Aiming for the crown

BANGALORE: Miss Bangalore, one of Bangalore’s most coveted beauty pageants, kicked off with much glamour and extravagance at The Lalit Ashok as it introduced the 14 shortlisted beauties, who will battle it out for the ultimate title at grand finale on October 15.

The occasion also marked the official launch of the association of the contest with the popular fashion brand Max as Vasanth Kumar, executive director of Max; Kamakshi Kaul, head designer, Max; and FerozKhan, creative director of Dream Merchants came together on a platform sharing their vision to take the Bangalore’s oldest beauty pageant to a level of exposure and extravagance as never before.

The afternoon proved to be a fashion treat as the audience got a first look at the finalists. These contestants were shortlisted from the thousands of aspirants who had registered for the contest by dropping in at Max stores and the auditions that took place in the city recently.

The event culminated with a fashion show wherein the contestants showcased Max’s latest AW’10 collection, which is inspired by eclectic themes such as plaid British look to the rustic folk feel to the influential military theme.

The contestants bedazzled as they walked the ramp donning an exquisite variety of apparel and accessories in the trendiest silhouettes and hottest colours of the season such as pine green, red, purple, orchid and mustard.

“We have discovered talents such as Sara Corners, Vitika Agarwal, Madhuri Bhatacharya and Nafisa Joseph amongst others, in the past. This year, we promise the pageant will be grander than ever before,” said, Sajad Mahajan, MD of Dream Merchants.

The grand finale is scheduled to take place on 15 October at The Lalit Ashok, where the contestants will be judged by a panel of prominent personalities including representatives from India’s top modeling agencies in a glitzy ceremony.
