Designer Tarun Tahiliani’s jewellery line for Azva blends the beauty of old world heritage with the seven promises of togetherness.
A known label in the arena of fashion, it is not surprising that Tarun Tahiliani’s bridal collection for Azva yet again stands out with the designer’s characteristic stamp — elegance coupled with dollops of style.
Running through the collection on display at the recently concluded India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2013, a four-day extravaganza that was held in Mumbai, the designer stunned visitors with an ensemble of pieces that dwelt around the seven vows essential in an Indian wedding.
Inspired by the saath pheras, the collection comprises earrings, necklaces and sets in 22 karat gold for the Indian bride. The focus is, however, on the sentimental connect, keeping the style and appeal highly individualistic. And, number seven is a constant in all the designs, be it the ghungroos in the earrings or the gold flower embellishments on the sets. Aiming to celebrate the romance of a wedding, Azva, that derives its name from the Sanskrit word ashva, is an example of spectacular Indian craftsmanship coupled with the appeal of contemporary designs.
On his association with Azva by the World Gold Council, Tahiliani says, “My association with World Gold Council and Azva has been an amazing journey of creativity and discovery of the beauty of gold as the perfect accessory to a bride. Creating a range of jewellery based on the seven vows of Indian weddings is a concept that is inimitably associated with Azva. My designs represent a perfect blend of heritage and modern contemporary ideologies bringing alive the real essence of the seven vows for the modern Indian bride.”
The collection ranges from 70 grams to over 300 grams per set. The World Gold Council will partner with leading jewellery retailers across the country to exclusively retail this collection in their stores for the upcoming wedding season that begins from October 2013. The collection is also available in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Baroda, Vapi, Bhavnagar, Valsad, Kochi, Indore, Kanpur and Kolkata.
