An unaired episode of Game of Thrones that was leaked on the internet on Friday was not released by those hackers responsible for breaching HBO’s servers earlier this week, but by distribution partner Star India, according to reports.

Episode 4 of the lastest season of the HBO series 'Game of Thrones' titled 'The Spoils of War', that was to be officially aired on Monday, was leaked online on Friday with Star India's watermark appearing on the file, the website 'The Verge' noted. A Star India spokesperson confirmed the leak in a statement to the same.

“We take this breach very seriously and have immediately initiated forensic investigations at our and the technology partner’s end to swiftly determine the cause. This is a grave issue and we are taking appropriate legal remedial action,” the spokesman told The Verge.

This incident is separate from the hacking incident into unaired episodes of HBO's shows, including the script of an upcoming episode of 'Game of Thrones', earlier this week.

The hacker group on Monday had leaked 1.5TB of HBO's data and unreleased episodes of 'Ballers' and 'Room 104' -- two of HBO's other shows.

Three episodes of the seventh season of the Game of Thrones have been officially aired so far.
