Ashley Judd to star in Sony’s ‘A Dog’s Way Home’

LOS ANGELES:  Hollywood actress Ashley Judd is all set to appear on the big screen in Sony’s adaptation of W. Bruce Cameron’s ‘A Dog’s Way Home’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Judd will lead an ensemble that also sees Edward James Olmos, Wes Studi, Alexandra Shipp and Jonah Hauer-King.

Charles Martin Smith will direct from a script adapted by W. Bruce Cameron and his wife from Cameron’s best-selling book.

Sony also announced that they have rescued two dogs, Shelby and Amber, to play the lead role of Bella.

The movie chronicles the heartwarming adventure of Bella, a dog who embarks on an epic 400-mile journey home after she is separated from her beloved human, Lucas, an aspiring med student and VA hospital volunteer.

Bella touches the lives of many during her unwavering quest; from an orphaned mountain lion cub to a homeless veteran down on his luck, Bella brings joy and comfort to everyone she meets.

The film is now in production. Lauren Abrahams and Maia Eyre are overseeing the project for Columbia Pictures.
