WASHINGTON: Actress Julianne Moore ‘hopes’ movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several women, is ‘prosecuted for some of these things.’

The ‘Suburbicon’ star also said it is important to acknowledge the recent wave of allegations against the producer as claims of ‘criminal behaviour’ rather than just ‘salacious conversation.’

“I think it's really, really important when we discuss this that, rather than it being salacious conversation, this is criminal behaviour,” she said, as reported by The Independent.

“I hope that he's prosecuted for some of these things. I hope that some of the charges stand.”

The 56-year-old also praised the swift action that has been taken since allegations against him have come to light.

“Some of the things I’ve seen in the last couple of weeks have been revolutionary,” Moore said, as reported by People Magazine.

“I haven’t ever seen these kinds of ramifications for this egregious behavior,” she added.

A growing number of actresses, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan and Cara Delevingne, have recently come forward with their own alleged experiences of harassment by Harvey Weinstein.
