WASHINGTON DC: Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio had been offered roles in the hit movie 'Brokeback Mountain', but they declined.
According to Fox News, the movie's director Gus Van Sant had confirmed this by claiming that he had asked the duo to be a part of the movie.
"Nobody wanted to do it. I was working on it, and I felt like we needed a really strong cast, like a famous cast," Fox news quoted Sant as saying.
The 65-year-old director further mentioned that apart from Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt; Matt Damon and Ryan Phillippe also denied playing a part in the movie.
Ultimately, Hollywood actors Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal grabbed the lead roles in the movie which had hit theatres in 2005.
