WASHINGTON: Singer-cum-actress Demi Lovato was hospitalised after she allegedly overdosed on Heroin.

The 'Sober' singer was found unconscious at her home in Hollywood Hills, after which she was rushed to the hospital.

Lovato's aunt Kemi Dunn took to social media to write that the singer is "awake and responsive," reports TMZ.

Last month, the singer released a new single called 'Sober' to confirm that she was not sober anymore.

In the video, Lovato laments and sings, "Momma, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore. Daddy, please forgive me for the spilled drinks on the floor. The ones who never left me, we've been down this road before. I'm so sorry; I'm not sober anymore,"

In March, the 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer celebrated six years of sobriety.

Lovato has been struggling with substance abuse for years and gave fans a sneak peek into her life when she talked about her struggles with addiction in the documentary- 'Simply Complicated'.

On a related note, the American singer's upcoming concert in Atlantic City has been cancelled in the wake of her hospitalisation, according to Variety magazine.
