KOCHI: Her comeback to Mollywood after a break is proving to be a memorable one to Kavya Madhavan. Not only her films fared well in the box office, but various accolades were bestowed upon her in her second innings.
The latest award bagged by the actress is the state award for the best actress, that was declared on Sunday, for her tremendous performance as Aswathy in the movie 'Gaddamma' directed by Kamal.
She portrayed the helplessness and pain of the character with gusto. Kavya was at Mumbai for a private function when the award was declared. "The award is a recognition to the entire Gaddamma crew and I am very much delighted," Kavya told Express over phone.
About her terrific comeback to the Mollywood after a personal tragedy, Kavya said the greatness of God is that he would console one with moments of happiness after giving them moments of sorrow. It was through Kamal's 'Perumazhakkalam' that Kavya bagged a state award for the first time. But then she was chosen as the second best actor that time.
"I am thankful to Kamal sir for giving me a chance to enact Aswathy in 'Gaddamma'. I am really touched," she said.
