With her curly locks and brazen gaze, Dhwani in Trivandrum Lodge had immediately struck a chord with the audience. And it seems the charming Honey Rose who donned the role with poise has no turning back since then. At least three of the upcoming flicks will see her in lead roles and what more, the shooting of Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus, in which Honey pairs opposite Mammootty will begin soon.
The actress, who had diligently waited for her break in Mollywood is evidently on cloud nine, and she says, “I am quite excited about the way my career is turning post Trivandrum Lodge. Getting noticed in Malayalam has been my greatest aspiration from the start of my career.”
In Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus by debutant director Marthandan, Mammootty dons the role of a theatre artist and Honey appears as a mature married woman. “Mine is a rustic character with a two-year-old kid. Being a woman with good looks and with her husband not around, the hooligans in the village make a hell out of her life, and naturally that makes her a tough character,” explains Honey. The actress reveals that she is a bit nervous about performing opposite Mammootty. “Sharing screen space with an ace actor like him will make every actor a bit anxious. But I am delighted that I have got a chance to do a performance-driven role in a super star film,” says the actress.
Honey, who firmly believes that it is team work that has bettered the actor in her, is acting opposite Jayasurya once again in Thank You, a V K Prakash movie. “I have much expectations from the film which has a highly relevant theme. It is a thriller.” Honey plays the role of an expecting mother in the film, who has recently returned from abroad, along with her husband. “Like every other couple who dreams to settle in their native place, we too have our own share of expectations, and a hurricane of unexpected events compel us to rethink,” says Honey. Honey says acting in this film made her feel a better person, since it has a positive note. “By being a part of a movie that conveys something good, I felt I could give back something to the society,” she says. The film will hit theatres soon.
Listing out her other films, Honey says she has a brief-yet-beautiful role in 5 Sundarikal, the romantic anthology helmed by five directors. She will appear in a twenty-minute piece directed by Amal Neerad. “My character is a PRO by vocation, and is paired opposite Fahad Fazil. Revealing more about the film would mar the suspense, as it is a small story,” she adds. In the upcoming movie Buddy, she will appear in a song sequence opposite Anoop Menon. “It is a romantic song, and I enjoyed acting in it thoroughly,” she signs off.
