The second schedule of Ilayathalapathy-starrer Jilla has begun at a giant set erected near Vadapalani and is expected to continue for around 20 days. The film produced by RB Choudary is directed by Nesan with Kajal Agarwal, Mohanlal, Poornima Bhagyaraj and Mahat in the cast. For Mahat, the experience of playing Vijay’s younger brother and also sharing the screen with Mohanlal, is turning out to be a dream experience.
Speaking to CE, Mahat discloses, “Vijay is very friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. During breaks, we chat about many things ranging from films to cars. During one such chat on films, I showed him one song of mine from the Telugu film Backbench Student which released recently and was thrilled when he said, ‘You’re a very good dancer’. Coming from such a wonderful dancer like Vijay, it was a huge compliment for me, and one that I’ll always cherish!”
Mahat is aghast at the way Vijay gets reformed completely before the camera. “He is reticent and quiet off screen. But once the camera rolls, he slips effortlessly into the character. The transformation within seconds is just amazing! Moreover, he encourages me with suggestions, that the whole scene comes out well.”
Mahat has even more reason to be happy during this schedule, for he will begin shooting his scenes with Mohanlal next. “I’m really blessed to have such an opportunity, working with these two luminaries of cinema so early in my career!” he signs off.
