SEQUELS are in! With Dostana raking in the moolah at the box office and becoming a runaway success story, it seems Karan Johar is gearing up to repeat the Dostana effect with a sequel! K Jo’s funny treatment of homosexuality was quite appreciated in spite of a few minor objections here and there. It was fun to watch the antics of two straight men pretending to be gay and now the fun will continue in the sequel.
Director Tarun Mansukhani is still working on the plot as he does not wants to make a sequel just for the sake of it. He wants a gripping story. Talking of the Dostana sequel, Tarun says that a lot of people have asked him about it. “It would be a great idea to take the Abhishek - John story forward. But the sequel has to be better than the first part,” he adds.
Abhishek and John Abraham, the hit ‘couple’ will be there. Abhishek thinks ‘Dostana’ is like a brand and one needs to make a sequel to the film. However, the story of Priyanka Chopra and Bobby Deol finished when they united towards the film’s end and a fresh female face is most likely to be a part of the story. Dostana was a rib-tickling comedy, which saw two straight men - John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan feigning homosexuality in order to stay closer to their girl pal - hot chick Priyanka Chopra. The story of Dostana 2 will take the two friends from Miami to Punjab and they clarify to everyone that they aren’t gay, but much like Kal Ho Na Ho they are unintentionally caught in such situations and no one believes them.
Now this sounds exciting. KJo will sure have enough ideas to share with his director.
