If Villu’s team tried hard nabbing down miscreants who managed to leak out a full 15 minutes of the movie’s scenes, it has a few lessons to learn from handling this issue. The uploading of songs and movie clips on the internet prior to the movie and its audio’s launch hasn’t been anything new to the Indian film industry, which is yet to find a way to curb the trend.
In fact, pictures of Rajinikanth’s Endhiran were released on the internet during the movie’s first schedule shoot in Peru. This was despite a total ban on mobile phones in the shooting sets. In fact, Rajini’s earlier flick Sivaji, suffered the same fate when three of its songs were out on the internet much before the audio launch. Likewise, a song of Vaaranam Aayiram was also released on the internet, seven months ahead of its actual audio release.
While these have been available for public space for long, making it easy for people for download, it is learnt that the gripping climax of Aamir Khan’s Ghajini was also out weeks before the actual release.In fact, the climax was the most secretive portion of the movie, which was otherwise a true remake of the Tamil hit.
But well, much before the climax leak became news, it is learnt that the movie’s crew got informed about it. And Aamir Khan rushed to find out who had uploaded the climax with help from the Cyber Crime Cell, and got him to remove it before it became news.
But if that wasn’t enough, there still were SMSes from unknown numbers leaking out the entire storyline of the movie which, it is said, terribly upset the actor’s fans.
Aamir’s way could well pave the way to prevent other such internet scoops.
