MUMBAI — “Bhaag Johnny,” a T-Series film directed by Shivamm Nair from a screenplay (with dialogues) by Vikram Bhatt, stars Kunal Khemu, Zoa Morani, Mandana Karimi and Manasi Scott. The trailer launch was held Aug. 12 at Carnival Cinemas with the film’s team — Khemu, Morani, Karimi, Nair, Scott and Merchant.
“Bhaag Johnny” is about a man’s journey, in which he gets two choices that will lead to two respective destinies. Janardhan Arora (Johnny) is a young Indian who works as an accountant in Bangkok. Although he earns a successful living, he is not content and wants more. Johnny has a strong desire to live his life to the fullest, so he gets involved in a security fraud, not realizing the dangers that he will encounter.
Johnny is now caught in a catch-22 situation, where he must make a decision that will change his life forever. He has to either kill Tanya (Morani) or save her. But life gives him an opportunity to lead two lives for 72 hours. In this critical situation, the black and white shades of Johnny break out. He starts living two parallel lives.
In one life, Johnny kills Tanya for his own survival. In the other, he protects Tanya despite knowing the risks. Both journeys are fraught with difficulties. The course of events leads to their individual destinations and determines what he becomes. He thus realizes that destiny is a result of the choices we make.
Khemu, who has been out of sight since his 2013 “Go Goa Gone,” is now married to Soha Ali Khan, incidentally. The film includes bold sequences galore and releases Sep. 11.
