It has come to light that Madhur Mittal who played a supporting role in Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was critically injured in a car accident earlier in June.
Madhur ended up ramming his car into a truck while trying to overtake it. He was immediately rushed to the hospital by his friends where he was placed under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for 15 days. He underwent multiple surgeries to fix his broken jaw, clots in the brain and fractured arm.
“It was a narrow escape. I want to send out a message to the youth to wear seat belts, come what may. 70 per cent of my face has been damaged but the swelling will eventually reduce. I am not allowed to talk much either. Hopefully, I shall be fine by November,” a struggling Madhur told Times of India.
Madhur played an important character ‘Salim’ in the Hollywood film along with Dev Patel and Anil Kapoor. He also played a pivotal role in another well-received Hollywood movie called the 'Million Dollar Arm'. Both Dev and Anil have reportedly contacted Madhur after incident occurred.
