My day starts with eating: Bharti Singh

“Main khate peete ghar ki hoon. I was the first TV celebrity who eats everything,’ quips Bharti Singh, the comedienne, who enjoys a good laugh – even at her own expense.

My diet preference is: Non vegetarian fare, except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My favourites in non-veg are mutton rogan josh and prawn biryani. In vegetarian food I love gobi parathas, rajma chawal, mutter paneer and baigan bharta.

The love of my life likes: My fiancé Haarsh, a Guajrati, has started liking Punjabi food a lot after meeting me. He relishes tandoori food like tandori roti, tandoori chicken and other Punjabi dishes. Both of us love going to Lotus Cafe at the Marriott as they have a great spread in the buffet. Another favourite is The Dhaba at Oshiwara.

I begin my morning with: I don’t have a concept of bed tea as such, I wash my face, brush my teeth and have my breakfast. Mera din khane se hi shura hota hai and I also end my day eating.

My breakfast is: I eat stuffed gobi paratha topped with white butter made at home. I have a heavy breakfast, I don’t compromise.

My lunch: Is not fixed. I don’t eat outside food. If I have left early for my shoot, then my driver gets my lunch from home.
I carry with me: Fruits and nuts

My dinner: Regular home food like roti, dal, chawal and sabzi.

In desserts: I love everything. My favourite are gajar halwa and moong dal halwa.

To keep fit: I don’t do anything. My walk is done in my sleep.. I work till 3 and 4 in the morning so I wake up late too.

My favourite restaurants: I like going to the Lotus Cafe at the Marriott. Their tandoori fish is aweseome.

My favourite cuisine: Mughlai.

If I were a chef: I would be able to make good Indian food like vegetables and dals and different kinds of parathas, I can make very good egg parathas.

My mom is: My favourite cook in the world. I love her haath ka khaana.

My favourite food as a child: Punjabis grow up on a diet of parathas.

I feel I resemble: A crispy paratha, everyone loves it but everyone makes a fuss about it.

My favourite spice: Green chillies

My favourite drink: Occasionally I like to have Karona beer

My favourite beverage is coffee but: I have just two cups.

My idea of a romantic meal: When I am married I would like to go to a restaurant in
Maldives with my husband.
