Here's why 'Phillauri' is a huge profitable venture!

NEW DELHI: Looks like Anushka Sharma’s upcoming flick ‘Phillauri’ will be a profitable venture, if we go by  the controlled costs and recovery that the film has already made.

The movie has been made at a budget of Rs. 21 crore, including marketing and distribution and has already recovered Rs. 12 core from satellite and music rights.

Speaking on the same, Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, said, "Phillauri is a special film for Fox Star Studios. After back to back successes with Jolly LLB2 & Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, we are excited to be releasing Phillauri - a high concept film with a big heart ! We were bowled over with the concept of the film and immediately decided to back it.”

Adding, “The film has powerhouse performers with Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma - all award-winning actors. The film's cost was absolutely correct and with us recovering 12 crore already from satellite and music before the release of the film, Phillauri is a profitable venture again from Fox Star Studios. We are now eager to see the reaction of audiences and we are hopeful that they will embrace the film.”

‘Phillauri,’ a film about a friendly ghost, played by Anushka, has been trending on the social media for its innovative promotions.

From installing India's first ever 3D Projection technology in cinemas to make Shashi interact with cine-goers across the country, to #Shashiwasthere, an integrated Social Listening digital campaign to What's Up with Shashi - where Anushka spoke to her fans who couldn't see her because she is playing a friendly spirit - everything created talking points for the movie and build buzz around the film.

Set in Phillaur, Punjab, the film is a fun, family entertainer. Produced by Fox Star Studios and directed by debutant Anshai Lal, the film also stars Diljit, ‘Life of Pi’ fame Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada.

Phillauri is set to hit the theatres on March 24, this Friday.
