MUMBAI: The future looks uncertain for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah. A day ago, lead actor Salman Khan announced that the film has been delayed and won’t be releasing on Eid 2020. The actor added that he will be retaining the window for another film.

Now, as per a tweet by Bhansali Productions, looks like Inshallah has been indefinitely shelved and might not take off anytime soon.

“Bhansali Productions has decided to not go ahead with In-shaa-Allah for now... Further announcement will be out soon... God willing,” the banner headed by Prerna Singh tweeted on Monday.Inshallah is touted to be a love story of a businessman and a film star.

Alia Bhatt is set to play the female lead opposite Salman.

Although no official statement is out, there’s speculation that SLB is yet to finish the script of Inshallah, which has led to the delay.

There’s also talk that Salman wanted a more conventional film—with his trademark commercial elements— to come out on Eid, thus opting to mark Inshallah for a later slot in the year.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan have previously worked on Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya. Salman’s upcoming release is Dabangg 3. He is also expected to shoot for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick 2.

Alia Bhatt’s forthcoming films are Sadak 2, Brahmastra, Takht and RRR.
