Brothers Jaggesh and Komal are to appear together on silver screen once again. Their earlier film Ganesh was directed by Dinesh Baboo, but it bombed at the box office. Surprisingly, their other independent films such as Mr Gargasa, with Komal as the hero, and Yeddelu Manjunatha with Jaggesh in the lead role, were successes. They had also acted together in Jaggesh’s own film Makeup a decade ago and though the film had not set the cash registers ringing, it brought Jaggesh fame.

Now, the brothers have joined hands under the guidance of cinematographer- cum-director Ashok Kashyap. It may be recalled that Komal played a key role in Kashyap’s film Sihi Muthu but the film is yet to be released.

Their new film is Lift Kodlaa..., a remake of the Telugu movie Mee Shreyobhilaashi directed by V Eswara Reddy in which Rajendra Prasad played a key role. Jaggesh has been assigned to play the role played by Rajendra Prasad while Komal will be playing that of Naresh’s. The story is about a hero who wants to end his life. He gathers people who are suicidal and plans a trip to a pilgrim centre to commit suicide.

Speaking to the Express, producer Shankar Reddy of RS Builders said that he had cherished an ambition of making a good film for a long time. “I used to watch movies at Amrut Touring Talkies when I was a high school student.

My parents used to give me pocket money. The gatekeeper at the touring talkies used to accept even 25 paise and allow me to watch the film,” recalls Shankar Reddy.

He adds, “I have been associated with many producers. They will help me whenever I have any doubt. I think that I have selected a good story for a film in Kannada. Its Telugu version was a big success. I expect the Kannada version to be successful too.” Talking about the heroine, Reddy says the hunt is on. “The search is on to find a suitable girl for the heroine’s role. Director Kashyap will select a girl for the same shortly. The regular shooting of Lift Kodlaa... will commence from December 2. The film is expected to be released on my birthday (April 7) next year.”
