BANGALORE: Jennifer Kotwal of ‘Jogi’ fame is on cloud nine with the success of her recent film ‘Eradane Madhuve’. The bubbly Mumbai belle, who has set the silver screen on fire with her dancing skills, has become the heartthrob of many youngsters. The actress, who has not been seen in many Kannada films in 2009, is set to be a busy bee in the next six months, shuttling between Mumbai and Bangalore.

“I had some health problems last year. That’s the reason I did not act in many Kannada films. Now I am busy. My dates are booked till the end of December. I am also acting in Tamil and Malayalam films,” she says.

Jennifer made her debut in Kannada acting opposite hat-trick hero Shivarajkumar in the film ‘Jogi’. However, she has not been cast in his latest film ‘Jogayya’, directed by Prem, who was also the director for ‘Jogi’. “Prem is a professional director. He knows who suits what role and which heroine is suitable for ‘Jogayya’. I am ready to play the role but am not sure if I am suitable for that role,” she says.

The gregarious actress had no qualms about making a guest appearance in a dance sequence for ‘Snehanaa... Preethinaa...’, which stars Darshan and Auditya. The dance that was picturised in Bangkok contributed to the film’s success to some extent. Jennifer plays the girl-next-door in Darshan’s latest film ‘Prince’.

“I want to play a variety of roles. I do not have any complaints about my role in ‘Prince’. Though there is not much scope for glamour, I am sure it will help my career,” she says. The actress recently watched ‘Eradane Madhuve’ along with others at a theatre in Bangalore. “It was a nice experience to watch my film along with other cinema-loving public,” she recalls.

In that movie, the Mumbai girl plays a character that helps the estranged couple (Ananth Nag and Suhasini) realise their mistakes and then lead a happy family life. “I am lucky to get a chance to act in ‘Eradane Madhuve’. The three great actors — Ananth Nag, Suhasini and Tara madam helped me a lot. I enjoyed every moment of the shooting, especially Sharan’s tryst with Tara madam,” says Jennifer. Some of Jennifer’s movies failed at the box office. Many film experts in Gandhinagar, the hub of film activities in Bangalore, had even said that she had no future in Sandalwood. However, the success of ‘Eradane Madhuve’ helped her make a comeback with a bang.

“I am an actress. I will follow the directions of the director on the sets. Success or failure is not in my hands. It is not my problem. I always make a 200 per cent effort while shooting,” explains the actress. Heroines from other states such as Pooja Gandhi and Parvathi Menon were very quick to learn Kannada. “I wish I can in the near future,” she says.
