KANNADA: Director Vivek Raj’s first movie Preethiya Hangama is different from the films released in last few months. But Raj, who plays the lead role in the movie has struggled a lot to present it properly.

Perhaps, Raj is overburdened with responsibilities. Had he concentrated on any one of the departments — script, screenplay, direction and action — the film would have been a good entertainer. If his performance is any indication, it seems he was in a hurry to make a debut in Kannada films. If Raj hones his acting skills, he might prove to be an asset for the Sandalwood. Shubha Punja has acted well but looks bulky.

However, she has tried her level best to do justice to her assignment. Avinash played a brief role but Ananth Nag steals the show with his acting skills and dialogue delivery. Urvashi played a different role.

The movie is about Raj (Vivek Raj), who works at a private company. Geetha (Shubha Punja), a journalist working for a magazine, pretends to be in love with him. Geetha’s assignment was to write a story on how a girl can take an advantage of a boy pretending to be in love with him.

Meanwhile, circumstances compel both of them to go to a police station where a police inspector (Urvashi) advises Raj to take Geetha to his native village. Raj’s parents treat her well. They expect Geetha to marry Raj. She tells them she is not in love with Raj. The climax is how Geetha realises her mistake and join hands with Raj to lead a happy married life.

The movie is worth watching with family members, provided you go to the theatre without expecting too much out of it.
