BANGALORE: Madhu Bangarappa, son of the former chief minister S Bangarappa is making his debut as a hero in Sandalwood after producing the movie Kallaralli Hoovaagi. Currently, Madhu is busy with the shooting of the movie Devi in and around Honnavara. Bollywood actress Sneha Ullal also makes her debut as a heroine in Sandalwood with Devi.
The movie is director Ishwar’s fifth project after he handled the megaphone for movies such as Dhaali, Preethi Nee Illade Naa Hegirali, Mahanagara and Green Signal. All these movies bombed at the box office due to various reasons but Ishwar expects Devi to become a huge success. “I am confident of Devi’s success at the box office. I am ensuring all the elements that are a must for its success,” says Ishwar.
A 10-day shooting was held in and around Mysore for Devi. Madhu Bangarappa has no experience in acting except playing a small character role in Upendra-starred film Kutumba. How did Ishwar make him deliver the required?
“Madhu has acted like an experienced artiste. He never felt uncomfortable while facing the camera,” says Ishwar.
According to Ishwar, Madhu plays the character of a youth who controls a particular area. “Devi is a commercial flick aimed at the mass audience,” says the director.
Lakshmi, Ravi Kale, Aahuthi Prasad and Charanraj are the other members of the casts in Devi. The shooting is expected to be over in 70 days. Sridhar V Sambhram, who composed music for movies Mussanje Maathu and Krishnan Love Story is the music director.
It is said that Ishwar approached Madhu for the finance but the latter decided to play the lead role apart from acting as the producer for this movie.
