BANGALORE: It seems there is no dearth of innovative methods in Sandalwood as far as film promotion is concerned. Recently, a producer has introduced lucky draw coupons to promote his film. Now, one more producer has come out with an innovative method to ensure a good exposure to his film.
Soundarya Jagadeesh, the producer of Appu Pappu has distributed seven lakh labels among school children across the state as part of promotional activities. “I want to make it popular among the school children because this film is meant for them. I have printed around 10 lakh labels and five lakh coupons for this purpose,” said Jagadeesh.
Jagadeesh is launching his son Snehith as hero with Appu Pappu. Snehit made a guest appearance in Masthu Majaa Maadi. Explaining about the coupons, he said that these coupons were distributed free of cost among the school children. “The coupon holders will get 25 per cent discount on cinema tickets. There are four prizes - laptop, computer, Sony play station, bicycle and video game player - for lucky winners,” said Jagadeesh.
He said there was a huge demand for the audio cassettes of Appu Pappu. The producer said that he had spent a considerable amount on the publicity of the film. “I have received many enquiries from school children about Appu Pappu. They are curious about the film and excited to watch it,” he said.
The producer said the film will be released on Friday. “As of now, I am planning to release it at around 40 theatres across the state,” he said.
He said that many producers from Bollywood and Tollywood approached him to re-make it in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. “I am yet to take a final decision. I am considering to dub it in Telugu after the release of Kannada version,” the producer said.
