Navarasa Nayaka and Minimum Guarantee Artiste Jaggesh is set to appear in a new avatar on the silver screen. Jaggesh, who played a lazy drunkard character in film ‘Eddelu Manjunatha’, will be playing an advocate role in film ‘Manjunatha LLB’. This film’s shooting is expected to commence on December 14.

The specialty of this film is that Jaggesh has agreed to act in this film not for monetary benefits but to help producer Ganesh who had incurred a huge loss from film ‘Dandam Dashagunam’ in which Ramya and Chiranjeevi Sarja were the lead pair. It may be recalled that Ramya had created a ruckus demanding Ganesh to clear her dues before the release of ‘Dandam Dashagunam’ and even refused to take part in promotional activities of that film.

As expected, that film crashed at the box office beyond redemption thus incurring a huge loss to Ganesh. It was learnt that many artistes had refused to cooperate with Ganesh and it was Jaggesh who came forward to act in ‘Manjunatha LLB’. “I am very grateful to Jaggesh for agreeing to act in this film. I have to be grateful to some financiers who have lent me money without charging any interest," says Ganesh.

‘Manjunatha LLB’ will be the third flick for dialogue writer-cum-actor-cum-director Mohan. His first film was ‘Krishna Nee Letaagi Baaro’. The second film – ‘Narasimha’ — is ready for release.

“It has been inspired by Malayalam film ‘Hello’ in which Mohanlal played the lead role. We have made a lot of changes to the script to suit Kannada nativity. It is about an incorrigible drunkard who becomes an advocate and later a teetotaler,” says Mohan.

It was rumoured that Ganesh had approached Nikitha to be the heroine for Jaggesh but remuneration came in the way. “She demanded around Rs 14 lakhs. I told her to reduce the remuneration but in vain. I had to approach other heroines for this film,” recalls Ganesh.

Expressing happiness to work with producer Ganesh, Jaggesh has said that he wanted producer to continue making films. “I hope that ‘Manjunatha LLB’ will help Ganesh earn more money,” says Jaggesh.

According to director Mohan, Reema Vora, who acted in film ‘Murali Meets Meera’, has been selected as the heroine for this film. “I thought Reema will be the right choice for this film. I’m not aware of producer Ganesh approaching Nikitha for the heroine’s role in this film,” explains Mohan.

Spoorthi has been assigned to play a key role while Shobaraj, Srinivasamurthy, Karibasavaiah are the star cast. Its shooting is expected to take place in Bangalore.
