She is one actress who has ensured to keep away from the hullabaloos of filmdom and believes in ‘letting the work do all the talking’ dictum, now. Aindrita Ray who recently completed a song shoot in Singapore for Rajani Kantha opposite Vijay came back to join the crew of film Tony opposite Kitty.

The actress who doesn’t wish to be out of sight and out of mind has decided not to limit herself with just two films a year.

Just when she planned to take a short break from spotlight, she has signed her next film 'Ziddi' opposite Prajwal Devaraj to be directed by Anantha Raju. This is her third film with Prajwal Devaraj with 'Meravanige' and 'Nanavanu' being her previous film with the actor.

'Ziddi' is a remake of Malayalam film, 'Pudhiya Mugam', which starred Prithviraj and Priyamani.

“Though I am not fond of remakes, I took up this film only because the character is very challenging,” says Andy, who will not be watching the original version.

“There is not much option left to improvise myself, if I watch the remake. I want to make my own character and not just be a copy cat. Secondly, a large section of Kannada audience wouldn’t have watched the Malayalam film. People like to see me in a certain character and that helps me to improvise on my role and give the best,” she says.

Aindrita who had steadily built a level of success and was choosy with her films has now taken a U-turn with her decision.

“I used to do just two films in a year and have done quite well. But the Kannada audience prefers to see us more often. Somewhere I felt that being very selective is like ‘out of sight, out of mind’. Today my stand has changed and I have now decided to go in for more films and have more screen presence."

Her next film Rajani Kantha will see the ‘Junglee jodi’ back on screen.

“I am confident that Vijay and I will create another history after Junglee as Rajani Kantha is more colourful and as an actress, I have more scope for performance in this film,” says Andy, who will be playing a contrasting personality in her other film 'Tony'.

“Tony will see me in a much mature role. But right now I am more excited about my Bengali look in the film,” she chuckles.
