Govindaya Namaha makes way for Anna Bond

Komal-Parul starring Govindaya Namaha is running packed houses across Karnataka. The film, which is now getting a huge response across cities and in particular, Santosh Theatre, Bangalore is now making way for Anna Bond, which is scheduled to release on May 1. “We will be shifting our movie to Triveni Theatre, ” says, Producer, K A Suresh, who is willing to give away, even though, he’s getting a collection of `8 lakh per week from this theatre. “I had to take this decision after sitting with the Anna Bond team. I feel sad to do this to my film, which is doing well. On the other hand, it’s Puneeth Rajkumar’s movie. I could not say no to him. Secondly, out of 14 to 15 films, starring Puneeth, atleast 12 films have been released in this particular theatre. The Rajkumar family has some sentimental value towards this cinema hall. That’s one of the reasons, I had to take away my film,” he explains. This is entirely the producer’s decision and he has not consulted anyone assosiated with the Govindaya team. “As a producer, I’m just two films old. I don’t have much hold in the industry. Even if they had asked Komal, he would have definitely told them to take my permission. Ultimately, it was my call,” he tells us.

Actor Komal, who’s currently riding high on the film’s success, says, “When we have given way to other regional cinema, we should definitely adjust when we have our own Kannada film releasing. I have deep respect for the Rajkumar family. I am happy with the audience, who have appreciated and blessed me with such a big hit.”
