When young model Aviva Bidapa signed for a Kannada film, Ale, she was sure to keep her profile low. But the daughter of fashion guru Prasad Bidapa, suddenly caught all the attention when her co-artist in the film, Harshika Poonacha expressed her disappointment with the director for including another heroine.

Not perturbed with the reaction about her inclusion, Aviva stated, “I don’t know why it should affect me. I have been brought up to work hard and accept nothing. My father just told me ‘Work for loyalty and also work for your money’. Harshika is a good friend of mine. In fact she called me later and said that she was miffed with the director and not me. This whole episode has nothing to do with me. The makers of the film know my father and they got in touch with him. They gave me the remuneration I asked for, which was paid by the hour for my job.”

Unlike Harshika, Aviva has nothing against the makers. “They took good care of me. Though Harshika indicated that she had problems with the production house, they really made me feel quite comfortable though I was a new comer,” she said.

The movie posters with Harshika, Thanush and Aviva adorn the walls of the city. But this newbie is more keen to see herself on screen. “Acting is a different ball game. I need to see myself on screen to get the real feel,” she added.

Though Aviva has got a hang of the cinema world, she is planning to take it up as a career only after perfecting the art. “I cannot consider Ale as my debut because I play a cameo. I loved the language and I did not want to say no. I am not an experienced actor. It is a big career for which I need to perfect the art. I will soon be leaving for London to study at the Dramatic Academy. I will not be accepting any movie for now because if at all I step in, people should consider me as a good actress,” explained Aviva.

She also plans to carry forward her father’s legacy. “He started with nothing and it is amazing that he has built his name and business in a short time. I take it as an opportunity and put my hands in everything. Fashion is all about glamour but there is glam quotient to be added to movies. Though initially it was quite intimidating, it was a good chance and I enjoyed working. The director told me one thing, ‘Don’t act, just react’ and I evolved,” she concluded.
