Director Jacob Varghese, who gave us films like Savaari and Prithvi, is back with his latest project and he chosen Srinagar Kitty again to play the lead. Kitty’s career took an upward turn after Savaari and he is excited to be working with the director again. The actor who is currently on the sets of Bahuparaak says, “I am really looking forward to working with Jacob after Savaari. He is a director who takes his time and comes up with unique subjects. He is passionate about doing different kinds of films and it is always a pleasure to work with such a director. We were actually discussing the script for past three months and finally decided that I will be acting in his film,” says Kitty.
The film will go on floors this November and the title has been finalised as Savaari 2. Clarifying that it is not a sequel, Kitty says, “We just took the title but it has a different subject.”
The combination of Raghu Mukherjee and Kitty was quite a hit in the first part but Savaari 2 will be minus Raghu. “This time I will be working Girish Karnad, which is another exciting factor. I have grown up watching his films and theatre works. Now working with him is more like dream come true,” he says.
Taking about moving out of Imraan Sardariya’s directorial film, Endendigu, Kitty says, “Imraan came up to me and showed keen interest that Ramya and I should be part of his film. But unfortunately, I had hurt my leg while shooting for Bahuparaak and dates were pushed further. Since Imraan wanted to start the film immediately, and I couldn’t accommodate any dates for him, I told him that we will work together in another project.”
Kitty’s next film to be released is Parul W/o of Devadas, which is currently in post production stages. “Apart from this, I have another film produced by Annaji Nagaraj for which one song is pending as of now. I also have Shankra directed by Praveen Nayak,’’ he says.
