Just when actress Pranitha Subhash was excited and happy to be part of the film Brahma, starring Upendra, she came in for a shock when the makers of Buddhu alleged that the actress had backed out of their film without even so much as giving them a reason for her decision. They have now tendered a written complaint to the Producers’ Association and are replacing Pranitha with another actress. Buddhu is being directed by Guruvendra Shetty and stars newcomer Vardhan. Pranitha had in fact, shot a few sequences for the film.

Pranitha is surprised by the allegations. She says, “I had given clear dates for Buddhu in February. But they (producers) could not start the film then and kept postponing its schedules. Since I could not accommodate dates further down the calendar for them, I returned the advance and the matter was cleared back then. This news of a complaint is a shock to me because they are spreading the wrong message. In fact, I have the signed copy as a proof that I have given back the signing amount. It is time I keep bring this in front of everybody to clarify on the issue. My manager, who handles my dates, is aware of the whole matter,” says Pranitha.

She adds that her trying to seek publicity this way is needless. “Why is that these people are seeking publicity by talking nonsense about me. This is ridiculous,” she says.

Meanwhile, Pranitha has signed a Telugu project with the Manchu family. “The starcast of the film is Vishnu Manchu, Hansika Motwani, Raveena Tandon and Manoj Manchu,” she says.

Pranitha is also looking forward to the release of her next Kannada film Angaraka in which she is paired opposite Prajwal Devaraj.
