Director Pawan works on post-production this month and hopes to start dubbing soon

Puneeth Rajkumar-starrer Rana Vikrama has just completed eight per cent of its shoot. Locations like Sandur, Hampi and Bengaluru have been covered and the team is all set to head to Europe in January.

Meanwhile, Pawan Wadeyar has set this month aside for post-production, visiting Chennai to check on graphic enhancement work and background changes. The director plans to start dubbing from next week.

“Initially, our plan was to complete the shoot for Rana Vikrama, including the London portions, this year. Unfortuantely, the weather is not so good there right now. I need sunny locations for my scenes, for which, according to my coordinator, January will be a better month. So we decided to postpone the shoot,” Pawan says.

While he is sure of London, he also wants to shoot at a ‘posh location’ in one of the European cities. “This apart, we have a song, which will be a grand affair shot indoors with sets,” he adds.

The production’s high budget and star actor have posed a challenge to the two-film-old director. All the same, he’s happy with what he has seen so far. “All is well that ends well, and I am glad the film’s outcome is better than I had envisioned. All thanks to Puneeth and the entire team who have made it possible. I had planned for a 100-day schedule and I am bang on time. In fact, I might complete the film much before the deadline,” he says, adding that four days of shoot were cancelled in Sandur because the rains washed away a set that had to be recreated.

Pawan says that none of the locations that he chose had mobile network coverage. “I don’t know whether it is coincidence, but it happened for good. I could work in peace because there were no phone distractions during the making,” he says.

Pawan has slated the audio launch for January. “Hopefully, if everything goes as planned, we will release the film in February next year,” he says.
