The Hindi film PK directed by Rajkumar Hirani, might have crossed the  200-crore mark at the box office and also been appreciated by the industry and large sector of Indian audience. Yet, the film is facing the ire of many religious outfits in cities like Agra and Bhopal. Apparently it has hurt the sentiments of a certain sector of Hindus for apparently disrespecting the religion and for showing the godmen in a bad light.

This debate is extremely relevant for our very own Kannada film Shivam that releases this Friday. Its plot revolves around religion, priests and heritage temples. However, Srinivas Raju, the director of the film, clarifies that his film doesn’t  portray Hindu religion in any bad light, neither does it hurt any religious sentiments.

He confidently says, “Every Indian and a Hindu will be proud of my film.”

Apart from Upendra, the film has an ensemble cast like Ragini Dwivedi, Saloni, Makrand Deshpande, Ravi Shankar, Rangyana Raghu, Geetha, Shivaram among others.

With so much of effort gone in the making, hope the historic - fictional movie creates a new history at the box office.
