Budding actor Arun follows the footsteps of his brother Master Anand who has, over the years, established himself as a multi-talented actor.

The child artiste started  his career on small screen and is now turning a lead actor with Gajapade. “The makers of Gajapade liked my performance in the latest serial Robot and offered me a major role in the film. My brother Anand wanted to launch me in a big way. But when he heard the story of Gajapade, he was impressed by the importance of my role and suggested that I take it up,” explains Arun.

The film revolves around the lives of three friends. The first half will see Arun’s comic side while the latter will be more serious. Fifty per cent of the film has been shot, the actor says.

Unlike his brother, Arun didn’t get a big break early in his career.

“Our mother didn’t approve of both of us getting into movies. While she pushed me to focus on studies, our father wanted me to get into films. However, nothing great came my way at that time, so I decided to finish my degree and then start looking out,” he explains.

Now, the actor is glad that he worked on the small screen for a while and says that it has helped him explore his talents.

“I learned acting and comedy while working on serials like Paduvaralli Paddegalu, Classmates, Punar Vivaha and Robot. Small screen helped me grab the attention of the audience and brought me a name,” he says.

Though his plans for the future are unclear at the moment, Arun is all set to make a career in acting. “Acting is not a hobby to me. I am preparing myself to do better and I await good roles,” he says.
