Director KM Chaitanya has almost completed shooting for his upcoming film, Aatagara with just one song pending with Parul Yadav. “This introduction song will be quite opulent. Apart from the song, everything seems to be done. The editing is complete and the picture looks very good. Even the dubbing is almost final and it is now at the re-recording stage,” he says.
Chaitanya was excited about sharing his shooting experience of the climax scene that was shot in Hosur a couple of days ago with actor Chiranjeevi Sarja and Ravi Shankar. “There is a place called Taal, in Hosur which was booked by Yogi Dwarakish, the producer of the film. It cost us `5 to 6 lakh for just half a day and we had a good pilot with some interesting shots. The highlight of the sequence was shooting a helicopter scene using a heli-cam. Both were flying machines and there was a lot of excitement around it on the sets. After completing the shoot, Yogi, I and the crew went on a chopper ride.
Chaitanya also described his experience of working with a bunch of new actors, which he says was very interesting. “Prakash Belawadi, Achyuth Rao and I come from the theatre tradition. But a lot of actors, whom I worked with are from a pure cinema background. They are used to acting shot by shot and that’s how their films are made. For my film, all of them had to get ready for the entire scene and had to do it in one take. Surprisingly, they were quick to learn. I would see them discussing their positions and arguing. It was interesting to see all the actors from commercial cinema adapting to a different style of filmmaking.”
Chaitanya is leaving the release date to Yogi and it is likely to be in May. “For the first time, I have a producer, who is well-versed in the business of cinema. I just have to concentrate on being creative,” he says.
The film made under Dwarakish productions also sees Meghana Raj playing one of the leads in the film with Anant Nag and Anu Prabhakar in pivotal roles.
