Mythri is a classic example of director BM Giriraj’s repertoire which is supposed to be different from the regular crop of films. The kind of role he envisioned for Puneeth Rajkumar in the film has been received extensively well by all kinds of audiences. Puneeth is equally excited with the wonderful feedback he is getting for his role. “I mainly picked up this film because I liked the way Giriraj had scripted the story. But, the kind of response  I am getting from the audience is quite overwhelming. Initially, I thought, a film like Mythri would only  attract the multiplex crowd. But, it is nice to see the masses liking it as well,” says Puneeth in his first-ever interview after the film’s release.

While the director managed to extract a great performance from Puneeth, the actor who has a mass hero image stood out in Mythri mainly by being himself. And, he looked extremely convincing and most people could relate to him. “Mythri became an eye opener for many and it has been accepted positively. The makers tried to create something for the new generation, which actually clicked well and was appreciated. I want to thank Giriraj for coming up with such a different subject for the Kannada audience and the fact that NS Rajkumar, the producer, who is more of a family friend has invested in a good film,” says Puneeth, who signs off adding, “I would like to continue being part of such projects, provided, I get a good script with a serious social message.”
