Actor Sharan is of the belief that when you delve long enough in a particular profession, you tend to expand your horizons and learn other aspects that make you feel complete. This holistic approach is what Sharan promises will be reflected in his film, Bullet Basya, which will hit the screens tomorrow.

The actor, who has struggled through over 100 films to find a respectable slot for himself in Sandalwood, has written the story of Bullet Basya and even sung  a song for the film. But the comedian-turned-hero is humble enough to admit that writing was never his forte. “When I suggested the one-liner and the title to producer Jayanna, he agreed immediately. However, I just cannot take credit for the story because I never was into writing. There were so many people involved with me,” he states.

Even though he never thought of writing the story, according to the actor, the story kept haunting him. “The idea of turning it into a story for a film struck when I was doing Victory. I revealed the one-liner for the first time to my co-star of the film Asmita Sood when we were shooting in Thailand. Her immediate reaction encouraged me,” reveals the actor.

He started cultivating the art of writing and started with bullet points, and the narrative emerged in a disorderly manner.

“I then involved some good writers, who polished the whole storyline and the story became complete once Jayatheertha entered as a director,” explains Sharan, who promises that the film will have his popular comic signature but the entertainment quotient has been enhanced  by the director.

“Jayatheertha’s working style and mine reflect a rare contrast. My comedy and his seriousness of understanding a particular scenario have resulted in a unique flavour for the film. He has definitely brought in his own magic,” he says.

The film produced by Jayanna and Bogendra sees Hariprriya in the lead and has a huge star cast. “We have Tabla Nani, Rangayana Raghu and Girija Lokesh. For the first time I have worked with Jaggesh’s son Yathiraju, Prashanth Siddi, Godudi Giri, Master Anand, Kuri Prathap.

And all of them are reason enough to make Bullet Basya stand out,” he affirms.
