As Mr Airavatha nears its 25th day, its star is busy with Jaggu Dada. So far, 30 per cent of the shoot, including a few fight sequences, has been completed.
City Express got exclusive access to the actor’s first look in Jaggu Dada, which will see him in an out-and-out comic role. Something which is rather rare for him.
“I have always done films my fans expect of me, and I do have a female fan following that keeps asking when I will do a comic role and appear in another film like Datta, which a lot of women seem to have liked. So I picked Jaggu Dada,” he says.
As for the story of Jaggu Dada, the hero is a rowdy and he needs to get married to fulfil his grandfather’s wish. And when he doesn’t find a girl in Karnataka, he transforms himself from a rugged person into a businessman before heading to Mumbai to find himself a bride, leading to comic situations.
“Jaggu Dada is an entertainer that everyone will appreciate and with this film, I fulfilling the wishes of all the ladies,” he says. The film also sees Deeksha Seth in the female lead with Srujan Lokesh, Gayathri Iyer, Vishal Hegde, Vishnu, Ashwin, Yuva among others.
Working with Sandesh and bullet
The star will be working with Sandesh again, probably next year in December. Sandesh and Darshan are old friends, but when it comes to films, according to Darshan, they are professionals first. “Friendship takes top priority but when it comes to business, I am an actor first and he is the producer. He checks my market rate and signs me on and insists on giving me 50 per cent extra money. Since he is also into business and his father Sandesh Nagaraj is standing for the MLC election in the beginning of next year, he has requested me for dates by the end of next year.”
Darshan has also agreed to do a project with Bullet Prakash. “I have given the producers my word and I will keep it up. As of now Bullet Prakash’s film will be done after my 50th film. However, it might also happen just after Chakravarthy if Milana Prakash postpones his project with me further as he has a film with Sudeep.” As per the plan, the muhurath of Chakravarthy, by director Chintan, is scheduled for November-end while shooting is likely to begin in December, he says.
