Director Vijaykiran feels lucky to be working with a producer like Soundarya Jagadish for Ramleela. Reason? He is one producer who doesn’t want to compromise on anything in order to make the film into a thorough entertainer, says the director.
The film stars Chiranjeevi Sarja and Amulya in the lead and also sees an ensemble cast of 45 artistes. What is more interesting is that the film has almost all the comedians of the Kannada industry. “If you see any of Soundarya Jagadish’s films, he always makes sure to entertain with a huge starcast. Similarly, he has allowed us to bring in the best starcast for our film too. Some of the comedians being featured in Ramleela are Sadhu Kokila, Ravishankar Gowda, Chikkanna, Rangayana Raghu, Shobraj with senior actor Urvashi being a surprise element in our film and thus making the cinematic experience into a laugh riot,” explains Vijaykiran.
The highlight of Ramleela, according to the director is the way it will be presented. The entire star cast had a makeover including the lead actors,” he says.
“Usually, the makers concentrate only on the hero and heroine. But for this film, we had two to three designers who chose to give a makeover to all the artistes that included their costumes as well. It was all possible because of the producer, who is very passionate about cinema,” he says.
Vijaykiran adds, “The entire team including the producer is glad with the output and I can vouch that Ramleela will be one of the biggest entertainers of 2015.”
The film’s trailer was launched by Darshan and Puneeth Rajkumar, who also sang a song for Ramleela. The makers have brought in five top stars to launch each song from their album. Out of which, Dhruva Sarja and Upendra have already launched two songs. “Ganesh will be launching our third song while it will be either Shivarajkumar or Sudeep who will unveil the last song, before we go for the actual audio launch,” says the director.
The makers have planned to release the film by the first week of November. With Chiranjeevi and Amulya sharing screen space for the first time, Ramleela is a remake of the Telugu film Loukyam.
