Rockline Venkatesh is now an established name down South as well as in Bollywood. The producer who has taken up back-to-back projects in Kannada has also returned to small screen after two decades.
He is now producing a television serial named Janumada Jodi -Â Januma Janumakku Preethiya Jothe Dooradavara Olavina Kathe. Vijay Simha and Neha Patil will play the lead roles.
In the past, Rockline has produced teleserials like Aashavadigalu and Mailigalugalu.
Ask the producer what brings him back to small screen and he says, "A few actors and technicians wanted me to produce their venture and I had told them to come to me with a script that matches the standards of cinema. That's when Janumada Jodi came by. It is an interesting story about reincarnation."
The serial, directed by Raghu Shivamogga, is currently on air. Actor Neha Patil, who is making her small screen debut with Janumada Jodi, said yes to the project only because it is made under Rockline Productions.
"Anything that entertains the audience cannot be ignored. Be it a film or a serial, I do not consider anything as a small. With 300 episodes, this will also provide employment to a lot of people," Neha says.
The big-budget project will be mostly shot in Rajasthan, Mercara and Bengaluru. "The team will be using the same equipment that are used to make movies. My serial will be of cinema standards," says Rockline.
Meanwhile the producer has eight projects in hand and will start with the remake of Sairat in Kannada.
While the actress who played the lead in the Marathi original will be roped in for the remake, the makers are now scouting for the hero.
"I will simultaneously start with Manoranjan's project, a film directed by Nanda Kishore," he signs off.
