From the time Radhika Pandit got engaged to actor Yash, the actress has been facing judgements by people that question her future in films. But Radhika is not unnerved. In an interview with City Express, the actress asserts that she is here to stay. “From the beginning I have always kept my personal and professional lives separate nor  have I allowed the two to come together.  It should not make any difference just because I am engaged. I have been hearing that Santhu Straight Forward might be my last film. But I don’t understand as to why people are deciding for me. My personal life is my space and I will not let it affect my career,” she says.

The actress, who has been in the industry for eight years, maintains that an engagement doesn’t mean that a career of a woman is over. “There are women in all kinds of professions who work till they are 60 or more. We live in a modern and broadminded society now. Gone are the days when women were asked to quit their career once they were married. We don’t belong to that society anymore. So, there is no reason to wag tongues and decide what I should do next,” she insists and adds that she has always concentrated on performances oriented subject and not glamourous characters which are governed by age.

“People have loved the characters I portray because they have lasting impressions. I have chosen a path where I can continuously contribute to the film industry. I don’t think I will fade away until I call it quits,” she says.

Yash and Radhika are to start shoot for the last schedule of Santhu Straight Forward from coming Thursday and according to the actress, the rumours about her quitting films got a boost since she took time to sign her next. “I had to do preparations for the engagement, so I took a while. I don’t see any reason for me to  quit my career because I know I am in a good space. This year will have a lot more for me in store. While we just celebrated the 50 days of Zoom, I have Doddmane Hudga waiting for release followed by Santhu Straight Forward, which again is the most anticipated films for the year,” she says.
