Having experienced immense success with black comedies like Mata, Eddelu Manjunatha and Director’s Special, Director Guruprasad’s quest to helm a love story has been accomplished with Eradane Sala. The film, starring Dhananjay and Sangeetha Bhat, has completed 60 per cent of the shooting and the
final schedule will start from today in Bengaluru. The team will then head to Gokarna.
Left with 30 days of shooting, Guruprasad tells City Express that he is excited to handle a love subject for the first time. “It will have my signature touch of comedy which simultaneously brings out the emotions of love. People should enjoy the two sides of love,” he says.
Interestingly, the director reveals that he has brought in real-life situations of his own love story. “Though the film doesn’t exactly follow my love story, the ideas and scenes have been influenced when I was in love. It will be new to people,” he observes.
According to Guru, when it comes to a love story in reel life, it has to be glamourised to make it more presentable, but the soul remains the same. “Love can happen anywhere and at any place, which is shown through the lead pair,” he says.
Apparently, a few filmmakers had approached Guruprasad to make a love story, but he states that back then he
wanted to experiment with films like Mata. “Eradane Sala was one of the first stories I had in mind, which turned into a script now.
Coincidentally, my producer Yogesh Narayan of Modala Sala, wanted me to do a romantic subject and I took it up,” says the director.
The director has roped in senior actress Lakhsmi to play mother to Dhananjay while Anoop Seelin has composed four songs. “It has come out very well. I have a few more actors to be finalised, which will done this week,” he states.
Dhananjay’s Love
According to actor Dhananjay, who will be joining the final schedule of Eradane Sala, while the film has been shaping up well, he is glad to be part of a story which is inspired by the director’s love story. And ask him about love in personal life, he says, “I did fall in love but it is now a thing of the past and I have moved on. I am glad that I am bringing back the nostalgia of director Guruprasad’s love story through this film,” he says.
