Viraat Hits Screens on January 22

Darshan-starrer Viraat, after being on the shelf for almost four years, will finally see the light of day on January 22.

The H Vasu directorial, started in August 2013, was stuck half way when producer C Kalyan, former president of South Indian Film Chamber, took over and saw it to completion.

“The commercial entertainer also talks about  the electricity problem, a burning issue in the state,” says the director as he is readying for the audio launch at Jnana Jyothi auditorium on Tuesday. “The songs and action sequences go with the theme.”

N Kumar has taken up the distribution rights of the film in some areas, and the makers will shortly decide on the main theatre. They are hopeful of releasing Viraat in 250 to 300 theatres across Karnataka.

With Darshan as Viraat, the star cast includes Isha Chawla, Vidisha Shrivastav, Chaitra Chandranath, Suhasini Maniratnam, Sumalatha, P Ravi Shankar, Srinivasa Murthy, Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash.

V Harikrishna is its music director and K V Krishna Kumar is the camera person.
