Having hit the jackpot with Ricky, actor-director Rakshit Shetty knows the difference and the similarity between business and art quite well. Seemingly hasty, the six films-old actor and one film- old director has already started his own production house, Paramvah Studios and he asserts that it is intended so as to be in a creative space with complete freedom.

According to Rakshit, the first film to be made under the banner will be Kirik Party. “Life is taking another turn and I am excited to start this production mainly because we get to make films exactly the way we think. There will not be any compromises. We have a lot of plans which will be implemented one by one,” he reveals.

Rakshit is now focusing on building a team of Kannada writers. “There are many out there who are waiting for an opportunity. The main objective to start this production house is to encourage them. We also want to give a platform to new filmmakers as well. We might start producing short films, which will be released in theatres. These are just the initial thoughts,” he says.

Elaborating on the first film under the banner, Rakhsit reveals that Kirik Party revolves around an engineering college. “It is my experience when I was doing my engineering. Of course, there is fiction added to make it more interesting, but many elements have been inspired from my college days. I had written the story five years ago, which obviously had to go through changes keeping the base of the storyline,” he says.

The actor-director is planning to start the film by March first week and the film will be directed by Rishab Shetty. Dialogues will be written by Suni and his team of writers, who will be writing the first draft. “We will also be writing another draft of dialogues,” he says.

Behind the name

Speaking about the name of his production house, Rakshit says, “Paramvah means the first vibration. According to a legend, the Paramvah came through Shiva’s damroo, which was Om and he started dancing to the tune when the universe was formed. The music and Shiva’s dance is a form of entertainment, which nobody has seen. The whole idea of keeping the name Paramvah is do something out-of-the-box.”
