For Vinay Rajkumar, acting is familiar because it runs in the family. The one-film-old hero took no time in cracking the success formula. Vinay, who is gearing for the release of Run Anthony, spoke to City Express.

He tells us that, after his first film Siddhartha, he wanted to do better and that took him to Mumbai.

"I practised acting at Anupam Kher Film Institute, where I was taught a different method of acting. I was also trained in dance and fights. When I returned to the city, I realised that if I have to stand out, I should take up a subject that is completely different and not from a regular genre. That's when I came across this new director Raghu Shastry and Run Anthony," says Vinay.

"The role of a Catholic Christian Boy, I play in Run Anthony is new. I did a makeover, even in my mannerisms."

Vinay admits that he had come out of his comfort zone to be Anthony, and it became easy because he travelled with the story for six to seven months.

"We didn't immediately start shooting the moment we had the script in hand. While my father (Raghavendra Rajkumar) and my brother (Guru Rajkumar), the producer of this film, looked into every detail of the script, I had ample time to prep myself for the character," he says.

Vinay says Raghu Shastry and he shared a good chemistry and that shows on screen. "We had done workshops on the script and had done mock scenes at home and it got carried to the sets too. That's why we could complete the shoot in 58 days," says the actor.

While there is a lot of expectation from Run Anthony, Vinay felt confident the day people appreciated the first look in the posters. "The audience liked the songs and trailer as soon as it was released. With so much positive buzz surrounding the film, I hope they like the film also," he says.

So what is Anthony running towards? Vinay says, "success".

"I am fortunate to have many people who support me and can give me suggestions about my career and they include my father, Shivarajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, my brother, director Raghu Sashtry and my friends. When my family watched the film, they appreciated my picking a different subject. Puneeth said it is really well made. My grandmom is yet to watch the film, but she showered her blessings on me. She wants to watch it the day it is released," he says.
