With a unique story, it seems music also plays an integral part in Hemanth Rao's directorial debut Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. The makers, gearing for an audio launch next week, will be releasing the first song on Saturday, which, we hear is a jazz number. Sung by debutant Siddanth with lyrics by Rakshit Shetty. It is a a song the director says is fresh. "This particular track is very new for a Kannada film, in terms of texture. It is got a fusion of Indian and western, executed very well," says Hemanth.
Interestingly, the music scored by Charan Raj for Godhi Banna... has ten songs and more or less form the backdrop of the film while the story travels with the music. Hemanth says, "The USP of Godhi Banna... audio is that unlike other movies, we have integrated the songs into the film. There is no cut away sequences and no lip sync. It will be like a background score, but all situationally placed. Each song is either made in forty seconds and little more than a minute. The album will be one of the most exciting elements of the film."
"Everyone who is part of this audio including the music director and singers has tried to impart a sense of freshness to the album," he says.
Charan Raj, who has scored the music for the National award winning film, Harivu, is equally excited with the new album. "Hemanth was very clear with the music he wanted. Fortunately both of us have a common music taste. Moreover, he was ready to experiment, which helped us to try new tunes," says Charan, who has tapped old school jazz and the flavour of Ghazals.
"We also have electronic sequence and have brought in Indian retro arrangement in one of the songs. The ten songs in the film are mostly treated like a background score, and it is a treatment, which will take the story further, " he says.
The film produced by Pushkara M has Shruthi Hariharan in the female lead with Anant Nag playing the pivotal role with Vasishta M Simha, Achyuth Kumar and Ravikiran in the star cast.
