The makers of Zoom are all set for the audio launch on March 25, and for the first time, the event is happening at Hard Rock Cafe.

“The cafe is into world music, I thought why not we include our Kannada films,” says director Prashanth Raj.

The music has been scored by SS Thaman, who debuted as music director in Kannada with Power. He has also scored music for the Puneeth Rajkumar-starrer Chakravyuha, which recently had its audio launch.

Apparently, Thaman had signed for Zoom before he got his other Sandalwood projects. “Since, it got delayed, Power became his first film, followed by Chakravyuha,” says Prashanth. “He is a good friend of mine from my Love Guru days.”

Prashanth says working with Thaman is different from working with other directors. “He looks at the song from all the aspects. He first thinks of his audience while composing anything. His approach towards the arrangement of music is his strong point, and his intention has always been to reach the common man,” says Prashanth.

Moreover, Thaman works around the latest trends in music rather than be swept by the tide, the director says. “That is why he becomes a trendsetter. He lives for music and loves his job,” Prashanth adds.

Interestingly, this is the first full-fledged album by Thaman for a Kannada film. “He has scored music for five songs, and each is varied. The introductory has been sung by Puneeth Rajkumar, with the lyrics written by me. It also has a colourfully shot item song, with lyrics written by

Kaviraj. Thaman introduced me to something called Shivammogga rhythm, tunes he has used in this film,” he says.

A montage song has been shot at Milan, with the lead pair Ganesh and Radhika Pandit. “It tells a story. Along with a love track, the last pre-climax song has been rendered by Sriimurali and Radhika Pandit,” he explains.

The film’s team is hopeful of releasing the film in April.
