There have been frequent conspiracy theories that Kannada films are being edged out from multiplexes. In a reversal, the recently released Neer Dose will be getting extra screens at multiplexes from this Friday.
The film starring Jaggesh, Hariprriya, Dattanna and Suman Ranganathan has been receiving an overwhelming response from all quarters. Vijay Prasad's Neer Dose is being appreciated by everyone and this has led to an increase in the number of screens.
"We started with 185 and it rose to 200 over the weekend. We will be adding thirty more screens this week," says producer Prasanna of Skkandda Entertainment. "PVR alone has given 10 extra screens after they saw the response to our film."
The film that was released during the Ganesha festival has done very well at the box office over the weekend. "What is surprising to us is that Neer Dose has been getting a repeat audience and more at the multiplexes," says Prasanna. "People are not satisfied with one watch and are going back only to listen to the dialogues again. This is the exact feedback we have been getting from them. Our intention is to entertain the audience and we are satisfied that we could to a certain extent."
