Charulatha, who made a dream debut with O Malige in 1997 and has since been part of Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films, has bagged a pivotal role in Chintan’s Chakravarthy, which has Darshan in the lead. The actress, whose last outing was Mahaveera Machideva, is now part of the team.

She joins actress Deepa Sannidhi in the film which has a huge ensemble with Dinakar playing the antagonist while Srujan

Lokesh and Aditya essay important roles. The film also has Kumar Bangarappa in a significant role.

The shooting is currently going on in Madikere and Charulatha, who participated in it, says, “I chose this project because of the strength of the subject and the production team. I play a character who has to silently deal with lot of emotions, something that people have always liked to see me as.”

Speaking about the break that she took from Sandalwood,

Charulatha says. “A good banner is all that an artiste looks for and I have been accepting films only if I have scope for performance, a role which stays in the minds of the audience.”

The actress is currently settled in Delhi and keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Bengaluru. “I am also busy with commercials and working on a Punjabi music album,” she informs.

The team will be heading for a long schedule to Malaysia from today where they will shoot on a 12-storied cruise-liner, a first for a Kannada film.

The film has music by Arjun Janya and K S Chandrashekar as its cinematographer.
