While the grandeur surrounding any film of Shivarajkumar has escalated with every release, fans have taken creative strides for his upcoming film Shivalinga which releases  this Friday.

While milk abhisheka has become a common trend whenever a star’s film releases, ardent fans of Shivanna are making the release even more unique by getting a rudraksha mala made for the 75-foot cutout of Shivarajkumar.

To be installed at the main theatre, Santosh in Majestic, Akhila Karanataka Shivarajkumar’s Abhimanagala Sangha is spending around Rs 1.25 lakh for the rudraksha and garlands. Honnaiya Gowda, who is part of the Sangha said, “Rudraksha is special for Lord Shiva and since our star’s film is titled Shivalinga, we thought it will be apt to have a grand rudraksha made for the first time.”

Apparently, work on the rudraksha is going on for the past 20 days and each bead will be 1-1/2 feet. “All put together, we will have 48 beads,” said Honnaiya, who added that they want to surprise Shivanna with the unique garland for his cutout. “We have been following Shivarajkumar and his films for the last 30 years and it will be a unique celebration day for us,” he said.

Apart from Santosh theatre, the panche frame cutouts of the star have been placed in all major cities of Karnataka. According to producer

A Suresh, Shivarajkumar will be seen in one of the sequences wearing a silk dhoti, which gives a flavour of Karnataka’s tradition. “Shivarajkumar’s character blends in such a way that it will touch both mass and class,” he said.

The film directed by P Vasu will see Shivarajkumar in a CID officer’s role with Vedhika in the female lead. Others in the cast include Urvashi, who plays Shivanna’s mother, Vaishali Deepak and Sadhu Kokila. The film is written by the director, who has also done the screenplay. Music is by

V Harikrishna, while P K H Das is the cinematographer.
