These days, heroines working in different languages has become a norm. Telugu actress Shalini Vadnikatti, who has worked in Sandalwood before, will now be featured in Mr Perfect starring Aup Sa Ra Govind, which is set to release this week.
Shalini talks to City Express about her latest flick and her reason for coming to Kannada industry. She says. “I never planned on being an actress. In fact, a TV series in Tamil led me to my first Kollywood movie. While working on that Tamil film, I was selected for my Sandalwood debut Plus, made under Yogaraj Movies, and followed that up with Rajaru.That’s how my career began in Kannada and the same happened in Telugu. My art takes me to different regions and language industries.”
She adds, “I still can’t explain the excitement I felt for my first film, when I got to share screen space with Anant Nag, who the world knows as a fine artiste.”Her role in Mr Perfect can be guessed from the title, she says. “The heroine falls in love with a man, who she thinks is Mr Perfect. Over time she realises that he too has flaws”.
In general, Shalini believes that the heart of a cinema lies with its characters. And she chooses her team guided by this. “My role has to be important and perfection is in getting into the skin of the character, and being able to realise the director’s vision,” she says.On Tollywood front, the actress currently has two projects and one is with Kshanam director Ravikanth Perepu.
