Aindrita will be paired opposite the actor along with Ashika Ranganatha. A member from the film’s team tells City Express: “Deepa had an urgent commitment at the home front and couldn’t accomodate dates for us from May 29 for a month.

She had no choice but to backout from the film. We were particular about having an established heroine and managed to rope in Aindrita Ray, who fits the character very well. The actress will join the team from May 29 for the next schedule, which will be held in Goa for the next 15 days.”

Aindrita was last seen in Tarun Sudhir’s Chowka. She is now busy with projects in other languages including her first Bengali film, Amar Apanjan. The actress is also making her Bollywood debut paired opposite Arbaaz Khan in a film directed by Chandrakant Singh.

Garuda, produced by Prasad Reddy will be the second film for Siddharth after Sipayi and will mark the directorial debut of choreographer-turned-director Dhanakumar. The film has music by Raghu Dixit and  cinematography by Jai Anand. Apart from Bengaluru and Goa, the makers are planning to shoot it in Mysuru among other places.
