'Kannadakkagi Ondannu Otti' directed by Kushal Gowda is a special film that Krishi Thapanda is looking forward to.  Ahead of the film’s release later this week, the actor says that after being part of multi-starrers, this will be filmed with a solo heroine.

“In addition, my character requires me to play two different shades in the film. While one side of my character— a college goer— has been revealed, the second is being kept a suspense. It will be revealed only on the day of the film’s release” says Krishi, who is thrilled that the director of the film designed a special character for her.

“I like to experiment with my roles, but it so happens that most of the directors come with characters which mostly require the actor to be bubbly. Maybe, it was my off-screen look that makes filmmakers think that I suit only in certain characters. I’ve been waiting for right kind of film to come by, one that would give me a break. That’s when Kannadakkagi came by, and I am glad that the film has a different kind of role,” Krishi adds.

With a unique title like Kannadakkagi.. there are bound to assumptions about the storyline. Krishi clarifies that “most of the people are assuming that it’s a suspense-thriller, but it is ‘proper love story’, which comes with its own twist and turns. Krishi also asserts that the film is not a remake of any Tamil, contrary to the word that is going around.

“The fact is that a Tamil film bears a similar title and that has created a lot of confusion. It is a straight subject, and has nothing to do with any film from any other language,” she explains while revealing that Kannadakkagi Ondannu Otti is a line that keeps popping up often in the film, which is why the makers decided to use it as the title of the film. “There is nothing preachy and whole film has been shot in Karnataka,” she adds.

While Shatamarshan Avinash is paired opposite Krishi, the actor will mostly be sharing space with
Chikkanna, and senior actor Suchendra Prasad. Kannadakkagi... music is by Arjun Janya.
